Taking a Absence Empty

Going on an absence is perfectly acceptable, your character is placed in a temporary bank slot until you return. However, there are some small things to consider. Staff MUST approve of your absence, because we are the one making sure your character gets moved. Second, taking large absences from the forum, for several months is acceptable, but any legendary item's you have will be removed. Its not fair that you leave for 4-6 months of the year, and only role play around Christmas time or summer, and hold such powerful artifices.

Sometimes absences happen at the wrong time, but most of the time, we find absences can happen in very cheap and/or gamey ways, so here are the rules to prevent that.

  • Your absence will be denied if you are in a combat topic or conflict resolution
  • If you've just done/gain something important (taken over a minor nation, obtained MS, gotten a powerful relic or item.) Your absence will be denied
  • If you in a fight, critical moment, invasion, attack or anything, the absence will be denied.
  • However, if you disappear for 6 months of the year, or take month breaks every few months, you will be restrained too being a genin or losing your character if you hold a high position. No more coming to role-play during Christmas so you can screw around then leave after break for 3 months while you get your act together. Also, the more absences you take, the less approval you'll have on being able to take them. Especially if its high ranks or legendary weapons/techniques. You'll eventually become fodder.
  • Kage's who go on absences longer than 3 weeks will be removed of the position and if/when they return, they return as a jounin of kage rank
  • If you try and take an absence after you've been declared inactive, you absence can/may be denied for that fact.

If your absence is denied, we are not forcing you or anything. It simple means you character will not be moved to the Temporary storage bank, and will remain "in" play until you return or are killed/attack or whatever. We say this, not because we wish to be strict, but because we have found members often try and take an absence when things aren't going so well for there character. Or they don't wish to have a "big" confrontation with that new MS they got.
