Ninjutsu:is a term referring to almost any technique and allows the user to do something that they otherwise would be incapable of doing. Unlike genjutsu, which makes the opponent see illusions, the effects of ninjutsu are real. They vary greatly in purpose, with the simpler ninjutsu serving such tasks as transforming the user or allowing them to evade attacks. These techniques are often second-nature for experienced shinobi, who can use them at will. Not having any skill in this area limits a Shinobi to only techniques of E and D rank, the most basic skills that every shinobi must have. If they wish to learn any of the higher leveled Ninjutsu techniques, one must first gain the necessary specialty.

Taijutsu:is a basic form of techniques and refers to any technique involving the martial arts or the optimization of natural human abilities. Taijutsu is executed by directly accessing the user's physical and mental energies, relying on the stamina and strength gained through training. It typically does not require chakra, though chakra may be used to enhance its techniques. Taijutsu generally require no hand seals to perform, occasionally making use of certain stances or poses, and are much quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put: hand-to-hand combat. Not having any skill in this area limits a Shinobi to only techniques of E and D rank, since every human can punch someone or kick them. If they wish to learn any of the higher leveled Taijutsu techniques, one must first gain the necessary specialty.

Genjutsu: are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals. However, the primary difference between the two is that the effects of genjutsu are illusory; instead of attacking the victim's body, like taijutsu or ninjutsu, genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses. This is often used to create false images or to cause pain from trauma (because the body is led to believe it is in pain); however, there are plenty of other uses depending on the situation. Not having any skill in this area limits a Shinobi to only techniques of E and D rank, the most basic skills that every shinobi must have. If they wish to learn any of the higher leveled Genjutsu techniques, one must first gain the the necessary speciality. Also, without any special training in this area they can only target ones sense of vision and cause simple ocular illusions. Ninja of this level have basic understanding of genjutsu Kai, and can break up to C rank genjutsu's with it. Anything higher requires some sort of pain.

Fuuinjutsu: are a type of jutsu that seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. An imbalance is created when an odd-numbered seal is placed on top of an even-numbered seal and vice-versa. Fuuinjutsu is the art of sealing and unsealing things within various scrolls and such. Without Fuinjutsu, at least sub-specialty, one can only sealing that you can do is use the generic sealing method and seal weapons into a scroll. You can't do this in a battle though, you don't have the skill for that.

Weaponary:Weaponry is the art of using different tools and weapons. Most weapon users tend to focus on only one weapon, while others combine different types of weapons in order to overwhelm their foe with their variety. Weaponry can be used in combination with taijutsu, ninjutsu, chakra flow and even genjutsu in order to achieve more devastating techniques. The two most common types of weaponry are Shuriknejutsu and Kenjutsu
Kenjutsu (剣術; Literally meaning "Sword Technique") pertains to techniques that entail the use of swords, whether the users be shinobi or samurai.
Shurikenjutsu (手裏剣術; Literally meaning "sword hidden in the hand techniques") pertains to techniques that entail the throwing of shuriken, kunai, senbon or any other of a number of bladed, hand-held weapons.
Not having any skill in this area limits a Shinobi to only to basic weapons and at most they can have 2 items up to B rank abilities.

Puppetry:Puppetry is a unique ninjutsu fighting style; this technique uses chakra threads to control puppets like marionettes. Any number of chakra threads can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill can use fewer strings per puppet. While most puppeteers (傀儡使い, kugutsutsukai) would normally be able to control ten puppets at most (one per finger), one can use the Human Puppetry technique on their own body to increase the amount of puppets which they can control. Not having any skill in puppetry, you cannot use puppetry in any way, nor can you form chakra strings.

Sensory:A sensor (感知タイプ, Kanchi taipu; Literally meaning "Perception type") is a type of ninja that is capable of detecting the presence of other people through their chakra. A skilled sensor can detect their targets from a great distance, as well as differentiate the characters by their chakra signature alone. They are even able to tell when other sensors are using their abilities. Some are able to tell exactly who is among a crowd of people and even use sensory skills in a way that they are even able to tell if their targets are lying based on any fluctuation of their chakra. Not having sensory as a specialty means that you cannot use these skills. These arts are too advanced, so someone who is not skilled with them in any way should not even try using them.

Ijutsu: Medical Ninjutsu (医療忍術, Iryō Ninjutsu; Literally meaning "Medical Ninja Techniques") is a branch of ninjutsu associated with healing, as well as the manipulation of their own, or another' body, practiced by shinobi categorized as "medical-nin". The use of medical ninjutsu requires very good chakra control, as well as extensive knowledge on such things as herbs, medicines, the human body and even poisons. Not having Ijutsu as a speciality means that you cannot use these skills. These arts are too advanced, so someone who is not skilled with them in any way should not even try using them.
