Information on Ranks

If your reading this, your most likely wondering just how special ranks and organizations work. Here, we like to offer the members a variety of choices, as well as many different options in how they wish to work there character. We offer a wide range, but keep a standard definition for each village. We like to leave how such special organizations/ranks work up to the individual Kages, letting them decide how they wish to format it, along with its special name or what have you.

We do keep things standard, and pretty basic, ever village has a "elite" organizational unit comprised of highly trained and specialized individuals that handle the more "seedy" affairs of the village. As par for the course, until Kage's change it, all villages have a ANBU style organization. In fact, until its renamed, for simplicity sake, we call it ANBU.

In addition to ANBU, our site also has an Akatsuki organization that serves as the "primary" antagonists for the site, outside of plot and IOOC events of course. Akatsuki is a member driven organization intended to serve as villains and general hoodlums in order to satisfy our members "darker" sides.

Finally, you may have noticed that Minor Nations have less ninja than Major Nations. Especially concerning higher ranks, this is mainly due to the fact that Minor Nations are well in fact, minor. The reason is pretty simple, its because minor nations receive less funding, and have less protection, instead needing to rely on major nations for the most part.

ANBU

The ANBU organization is a primer organization dedicated to defending and protecting the village at all costs. Such examples are Sai or Yamato. The most well know, and in this person's opinion best example of such dedication is Itachi Uchiha. Who murdered his entire clan, joined an elite organization, and did countless horrible deeds just to protect his village. Such is the way of the ANBU, and such is the standard they live up too.

Joining the ANBU
For the first 3 weeks of the site opening, while everyone is getting there characters together and ready, we won't have/open an ANBU organization. However, as time goes on, and people start to fill in there roles, we will open them up.

  • ANBU are for Major Nations, its a perk of being in/apart of a major nation.
  • ANBU members receive an additional 80 CR
  • Each Major Nation will have no more than 1 ANBU Leader/Coordinator/Co-Kage and 3 sub-ordinates
  • All ANBU must pass a test, in which they demonstrate absolute dedication to the village.
  • ANBU get a pay raise of 15,000 ryu

Joining Akatsuki
Akatsuki is the stereotypical bad boy group. They are the "primary" antagonists on the site. Villains, thieves, rabble rousers, whatever you wish to call them, they are it. Akatsuki is also not your stereotypical group found on most sites. Where people join it to take over villages, get powerful items, or generally cause trouble. Akatsuki is a very hard organization to be apart of, and it comes with certain disadvantages for being a rogue organization.

  • In the beginning, until the site becomes more active and has more role-players. Akatsuki will be a smaller organization.
  • Starting out, there is one leader, two jounin, and one special jounin.
  • In order to "join" Akatsuki, the leader or member must search you out, test your abilities and bring you forth
  • If the organization is full, a potential member may challenge a current member, defeating and killing them to take there place
  • Once Akatsuki is full, the group will be closed to all members joining at creation, to join you must meet up and be "interviewed"
  • Akatsuki members are fully known by every village, including there jutsu's at time of creation, chakra signatures and such. This is the largest disadvantage, you are known as villains to all.

Minor Nations

Minor nations work just like larger nations, except for a few inconsistencies. Minor Nations receive (unlike major nations) a monthly income. They must use this income to pay there ninja's to accomplish missions. If there ninja complete all the missions by the end of the month, they receive a bonus income. Minor Nations can not become major nations by simply having a lot of money or ninja, they must take over a major nation and defeat it in order to claim a major nation spot. Finally, Minor Nations have a finite amount of Jounin/Special Jounin spots. The only way to get more, is to become a major nation. Also, Minor Nations don't have an ANBU style organization.

  • Minor Nations receive 3,000,000
  • If a Minor Nations completes all its missions before the end of the month, they receive an additional 2,000,000 for next month (At least 4 missions)
  • Minor Nations can also hire out there missions to other ninja (from major nations)

Ranking Up

Ranking up to various ranks requires effort, a commitment and most of all, to be in good standing with the site. The final say falls on the admins to decide if a person has really made the effort, or were they just spamming to get a rank up.

Ranking up Information

    Genin to Chuunin
  • Requirements: 8 Missions, and no less than 3 weeks on the site. Or take the chuunin exams

    Chuunin to Special Jounin
  • Requirements: 12 Missions, and no less than 3 weeks from your last rank up.

    Chuunin to Jounin
  • Requirements: Take the Jounin Exams

    Special Jounin to Jounin
  • Requirements: 18 Missions, and no less than 4 weeks from your last rank up. OR, permission from your kage and two admins, with 3 months of activity

    Jounin to Kage
  • Requirements: Be elected and approved by your village and at least 2 admins

    Jounin to Kage Level
  • Requirements: Be in good standing, and active on the site for at least 4 months

    Jounin/Kage/Organization Leader to S-Rank
  • be in good standing, active for at least 5 months. Prove steady and even tempered, completed various tasks, and dangerous missions. Staff Digression only. [This is incredibly hard to achieve, and will be watched closely should people start obtaining this willy nilly. Danger, life and death and commitment will be scrutinized]

Missing Ninja

Missing Ninja have a different route to take. They can take missions from villages not of there own, and commit crimes. Missing Ninja can kill ninja of higher rank to rank up. However its at staff digression, and they only move up to the next rank. (Killing a S rank, doesn't push a Genin to S rank, it makes them a chuunin at best). If staff find out or suspect missing ninja are just killing members for rank up, they will be demoted back to Genin and stripped of all rank ups. Doing this is meta-knowledge, your character wouldn't know killing others makes them stronger, so don't try it.

Monthly Income

Each month, shinobi receive a monthly based income, based upon being a viable part of the ninja community. Payroll is expected to be kept by the Kage, and is done once a month, along with the tallies for all missions done that month. Each month, a village's income is dependent on the number of missions done, the income paid to the shinobi comes from the income that the village earns. You can easily see where we are going with this, if a village continually does no missions, it will end up broke and unable to pay its ninja.

  • Genin - None, must complete missions
  • Chuunin - 10,000 and a minimum of 1 mission a month
  • Tokujou - 20,000 and a minimum of 3 missions a month
  • Jounin - 35,000 and a minimum of 5 missions a month
  • Kage - 70,000 and maintaining activity for entire month
  • Sannin - 120,000 a month, with a minimum of 4 missions a month

Village Income

Each Kage is supposed to keep track of how many missions are done a month, tallying them up and figuring out how much the village gets paid. Then using the pool of money to pay out his/her ninja accordingly. Remember, no money in the bank, unable to pay ninja.

Economic Rating

  • No Star - Completed 1-4 missions this month +2,000,000 ryu
  • One Star - Completed 5-7 missions this month +3,000,000 ryu
  • Two Stars - Completed 8-11 missions this month +5,000,000 ryu
  • Three Stars - Completed 12-15 missions this month +8,000,000 ryu
  • Four Stars - Completed 16-19 missions this month +10,000,000 ryu
  • Five Stars - Completed 20+ missions this month +12,000,000 ryu

Village Ratings

Like the Naruto Manga/show, we here follow the village rating system. Each village has 3 categories, and each categories has six different options. As see previously, the first rating is economical, which is based on its monthly income. The other two ratings, are Population, and Military. Leaving the list to be, Economical, Population and Military. Of those three, Military is the only one that doesn't change monthly. Economical and Population do change every month, with activity checks, and monthly income, however most of the time when population dips, so too does economical.

Economic Rating

  • No Star - Completed 1-4 missions this month +2,000,000 ryu
  • One Star - Completed 5-7 missions this month +3,000,000 ryu
  • Two Stars - Completed 8-11 missions this month +5,000,000 ryu
  • Three Stars - Completed 12-15 missions this month +8,000,000 ryu
  • Four Stars - Completed 16-19 missions this month +10,000,000 ryu
  • Five Stars - Completed 20+ missions this month +12,000,000 ryu

See the previous post for information about economic ratings

Population Rating

  • No Star - More than half of current ninja were removed for inactivity
  • One Star - 14+ ninja removed for inactivity (but less than half)
  • Two Stars - 11-14 ninja removed for inactivity
  • Three Stars - 7-10 ninja removed for inactivity
  • Four Stars - 4-6 ninja removed for inactivity
  • Five Stars - 1-3 ninja removed for inactivity

As you can see, population depends on the amount of ninja removed via inactivity, killed or simple went rogue. It is also important to note, that at times, a village may be extremely small, so 3 people leaving a village out of 6, is seems to be both a Five Star and a no star at the same time. However, we always go with the lower star options. Any time a villages kage goes inactive, it automatically receives a No Star rating for that month, same for the first month of a new kage. Also, any time a village has a full rooster of high ranking slots (full) they automatically receive 3 stars.

Military Rating

  • No Star - 0 Invasion completed, 0 successfully defense against
  • One Star - Either one successful invasion or defense against invasion
  • Two Stars - 3 successful invasion or defense against invasion
  • Three Stars - 6 successful invasion or defense against invasion
  • Four Stars - 10 successful invasion or defense against invasion
  • Five Stars - 15+ successful invasion or defense against invasion

Military Ratings are the hardest to come by, they are about successfully defending your nation against a threat, or successfully invading another major country. They have nothing to do with individual kill counts, but have to do with attacking or defending against others. Military Ratings are hard to go up, and hard to go down. Should a village lose an invasion it automatically goes down one rating. Should a village lose defending itself, it automatically gets No Star rating. However, invasions can be hard/tricky things, and at times staff are called in to moderate and debate the merits of such. A successfully invasion can be any number of things, terrorist attack, kidnapping a potent ninja, or ambushing and taking out a large threat. However, defense is the easiest to explain, it stops whatever the invading force is trying to accomplish. There will be times when both the invading force, and defending force are both victors, in which case both ratings increase.

Putting it all together

What do the various ratings mean, well for starters they are bragging rights to the respective kage's. As well as at large in the international community. Economic rating is simple, it gives the village more money. Population keeps it alive, and tells new members this is the village to be at. However, military is the hardest and most difficult. Military grants the village nothing but prestige and bragging rights, as it see's fit.

However, it wouldn't mean much if all these ratings didn't give villages SOME advantages, and they do. At the end of the month, the staff will tally the average ratings, and see how the village fared. If it fairs well, they receive a net bonus to be added by staff to there Ninja points, if they fared poorly, they relieve nothing.

Average Village Rating

  • Average No Star - No Ninja Points earned this month
  • Average One Star - +10 Ninja Points earned this month
  • Average Two Stars - +40 Ninja Points earned this month
  • Average Three Stars - +75 Ninja Points earned this month
  • Average Four Stars - +150 Ninja Points earned this month
  • Average Five Stars - +300 Ninja Points earned this month
