Curse Seals

Curse seals are a powerful and often times misunderstood method of obtaining power. The seal is often times forcefully applied to a ninja, and despite its drawbacks it is used at an early age to ensure success and stability. The seal forcefully absorbs part of the users chakra resources in order to grant them additional benefits and resources they wouldn't normally have. Curse seals eat the user's chakra in order to power the ability absorb nature energy, granting them a pool of it that can build over time.

Curse seals have two stages of development as well as different transformations that occur for different seals. When not active, the seal is simply a black seal on the opponents body, most often on the users body. Here on our site, Curse Seals do not house parts of the creators/primogenitors chakra and work slightly differently than canon. They have no "direct" connection to Orochimaru's purpose/use of them and don't follow those standards.



Stage 1


All Curse Seals have the same foundation, there stage one. While appearance differs significantly, the advantages and weaknesses gained during the first stage are all the same. It is only when branching out does one begin to see the differences.  

Name: Jōtai Ichi (State 1)
Rank: S-Rank Kinjutsu (Costs 250 Experience Points if you gained this ICly, free if starting out)
Range: Self
Type: Supplementary Move
Description:The user activates there curse seal, it spreads over there body, these glowing marks make there way across the body, triggering the first transformation, granting the user a small amount of nature energy pool to use. During the activation, the user feels pain as the curse seal spreads through there body, eating there own chakra as it tries to force nature energy into it. This pain when first used causes the user go into a rage that lasts 8 posts, attacking friend or foe, in an attempt to cause the most destruction and carnage as possible.
Advantages

  • Gain a 150 Nature Energy Pool of energy
  • Gain the Taijutsu Sub-specialty while in this mode, if one already has Taijutsu increase it to the next specialty rating. Specialist becomes Mastered - if one has Mastered, they don't gain any extra benefits
  • The more one uses this stage, the less likely they are to go into a rage. Each time they enter this mode beyond first, reduce the rage by 2 posts until they reach 0. (Second time, rage lasts 6 posts, third time, rage lasts 4 posts, fourth time, rage lasts 2 posts, and the fifth time they no longer enter a rage)
  • Uses Nature Energy in place of chakra (Can spend Natural Energy instead of chakra)

Disadvantages

  • Enters a rage the first 4 times used, attacking friends and foes alike, whoever is closer/weaker
  • Lasts for 10 Posts or until Nature Chakra Pool
  • Can not absorbed more chakra during this time
  • Has a ratio of 2:1, costs 2x users CC to combine it with X Nature Chakra
  • Costs 20 Chakra Resources each turn




Stage 2


Name: Curse Seal of Heaven
Rank: S-Rank Factor (Costs 400 to advance )
Range: Self
Type: Supplementary Move
Description:Is one of the strongest and most potent of the curse seals, with its counterpart being the Curse Seal of Earth. The seal consists of three tomoe (the design known as mitsudomoe), similar to the Sharingan, which, when activated, spread flame-like markings across the user's body. At this stage, it grants a large boost to nature energy, granting them something similar to a imperfect sage. The user receives a large boost to there stamina and physical ramifications are like body modifications.
Advantages

  • User in this stage gains 160 additional Chakra Resources
  • User Gains 200 Nature Chakra
  • Gain increased perception, able to track up to 2nd gate
  • User gains a pair of wings (to be described) that allow them to fly at Taijutsu specialty speeds
  • The user gains sensory sub-specialty
  • Gain increased healing - C rank moves and basic tools attacks heal instantly, B rank takes 3 posts, A 5, and S 8. By reattaching limbs, the user can heal them by holding them in place, and spending 50 NC
  • Every time the user kills a sage mode or curse seal, they gain 100 new Chakra Resources added to there own

Disadvantages

  • The first time you use this, you boil over in a rage, attacking and killing anyone close to you, lasts for 10 posts.
  • Lasts until Nature Chakra Runs out
  • Costs 20 Chakra Resources each turn
  • When leaving this state, lose 50 Chakra Resources


Name: Curse Seal of Earth
Rank: S-Rank Factor (Costs 400 to advance )
Range: Self
Type: Supplementary Move
Description:Is one of the strongest and most potent of the curse seals, with its counterpart being the Curse Seal of Heaven. It consists of three slightly curved lines, which spread in a rip-like pattern. At this stage, it grants a large boost to nature energy, granting them something similar to a imperfect sage. The user receives a large boost to there stamina and physical ramifications are like body modifications.
Advantages

  • User in this stage gains 200 additional Chakra Resources
  • User Gains 160 Nature Chakra
  • Gain increased perception, able to track up to 3rd gate
  • The user gains sensory sub-specialty
  • Gain increased healing - C rank moves and basic tools attacks heal instantly, B rank takes 3 posts, A 5, and S 8. By reattaching limbs, the user can heal them by holding them in place, and spending 50 NC
  • Every time the user kills a sage mode or curse seal, they gain 100 new Chakra Resources added to there own

Disadvantages

  • The first time you use this, you boil over in a rage, attacking and killing anyone close to you, lasts for 12 posts.
  • Lasts until Nature Chakra Runs out
  • Costs 20 Chakra Resources each turn
  • When leaving this state, lose 80 Chakra Resources



Name: Animal Curse Seal
Rank: S-Rank Factor (Costs 300 to advance )
Range: Self
Type: Supplementary Move
Description:Is one of the more modest seals, it lies in the middle as far as curse seals go. It consists of four lines forming a open diamond, it begins to spread out in lines that move like waves across the users body. At this stage, it grants a large boost to nature energy, granting them something similar to a imperfect sage. The user receives a large boost to there stamina and physical ramifications are like body modifications.
Advantages

  • User in this stage gains 160 additional Chakra Resources
  • User Gains 160 Nature Chakra
  • Gain increased perception, able to track up to 2nd gate
  • Gain the Taijutsu Sub-specialty while in this mode, if one already has Taijutsu increase it to the next specialty rating. Specialist becomes Mastered - Mastered Becomes Mastered + if one has Mastered+, they don't gain any extra benefits
